to live in the UK. The study by uSwitch evaluated 138 regions in the UK
according to income, life expectancy, sunshine hours, energy bills, working
hours and more.
9. Berkshire - also known as the Royal County of Berkshire -
is number nine.
8. Northumberland is the most northerly region in the top
ten. It had the lowest reported crime rate in the study.
7. Gloucestershire, Cotswolds country, can boast of a high
employment rate.
6. Warwickshire, the birthplace of Shakespeare, misses out
on the top five.
5. Surrey had the second highest gross disposable household
income per head: £22,068.
4. South Nottinghamshire was highly-rated, coming in at
number four in the list.
3. Hertfordshire, one of the Home Counties, makes the top
three.
2. North Yorkshire narrowly missed out on the top spot.
1. Solihull, West Midlands, was found to be the best place
to live in the UK. Figures showed the are has a gross weekly income of £528 and
average broadband speeds of 17Mb - much faster that most regions included in
the study.
