But it seems that Lady Gaga and June Brown have become BFFs after admitting a mutual admiration for each other on The Graham Norton show.
In the spirit of opposites attracting, we count down the most bizarre celebrity friendships of all time. Things are about to get weird.
1. Victoria Beckham and Lena Dunham
Why it's weird: VB is a super-styled, high-gloss fashion goddess who has a polished look and an inability to crack a smile. Lena is a frumpy, make-up free comedienne known for her sharp wit and hilarious Twitter musings.
Why it works: Despite her slightly severe exterior it seems that Queen Beckham DOES have a sense of humour. The star tweeted a snap of herself with Lena last month...and is that a hint of a smile?

Why it works: The unlikely pair clicked when they starred together on Celebrity Big Brother and share a mutual love for boozy nights out. A new reality series looms...

Why it's weird: While Taylor Swift is a confident, man-eating US pop starlet while Ed Sheeran is a geeky, red-headed indie kid from Suffolk.
Why it works: 'Ted' as we've dubbed them bonded over their love of guitars, roller-coasters and *ahem* Harry Styles and have even recorded hit singles together. But they're yet to give us the answer to last year's burning question; Did they or didn't they?

Why it's Weird: Posho Cheska is all about polo, champers and Jimmy Choo and we're *guessing* rarely steps foot out of SW1. Bristolian Josie is more of a Lycra and large earrings kind of girl.

Why it's weird: One is a hip-hop icon from California and the other is an award-winning sportsman from Leytonstone. What could they possibly have to talk about?
Why it's weird: Geordie Chezza is rarely spotted hanging out with the LA set, preferring to stick to old chums Kimberley and Nicola, while Kim never strays far from sister Khloe and Kourt.
Why it works: After sending a supportive tweet to Kim during her pregnancy last year, Cheryl found herself being taken under the wing of the entire Kardashian clan. The pair share a love of concerts, tight trousers and pouting for selfies.
