A pair of new PS4 features have been introduced, as the
next-gen console slowly comes up to full speed following a range of PSN issues
at launch.
With a range of the PS4 PSN features having been turned off
by Sony last week as the online platform buckled under the pressure of the new
gamers, the gaming giant has confirmed that features are being switched back on
as the platform continues to be slowly reactivated.
The latest PS4 features
to be reactivated are the Live Item
and Content Information screens. Although far from game-changing additions,
these features allow users to check out how their PSN friends are getting on
with certain titles.
With the two PS4 features brought back to life last night,
they follow the reactivation of the ‘What’s New’ PSN page earlier this week.
With PSN voucher redemptions having been switched off due to
huge strains on the system, Sony has confirmed that this feature is being
rolled back out to users at a gradual pace, allowing the company to address the
pressure placed on its services.
The PS4 launched in the UK last Friday, November 29,
becoming an instant hit by selling more than 250,000 units in just 48 hours to
become the fastest selling console in British history.
Since then Sony has revealed that over 2.1 million PS4
consoles have been sold globally since the next-gen Xbox One rival was first
launched in the US back on November 15.
